How the Body Was Found
The discovery happened on Monday afternoon (September 8) at a tow yard near Mansfield Avenue and Romaine Street in Hollywood. Officers were called to the scene after workers noticed a strong odor coming from the vehicle.
According to police sources, the Tesla had been impounded for two days after being abandoned on a nearby street. When officers checked the car, they found a bag in the front trunk. Inside the bag was a woman’s body in an advanced state of decomposition.
Description of the Victim
Authorities have not released an official identification, but details obtained by ABC News describe the victim as:
- Female, approximately 5’2” tall
- Weighing about 71 pounds
- Black wavy hair
- Wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet, and stud earrings
- A tattoo on her right index finger with the word “Shhh…”
Investigators believe the woman had been dead for some time before being discovered.
Ongoing Investigation
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to confirm the victim’s identity and determine the cause of death.
Police say they plan to interview the registered owner of the Tesla, D4vd, along with anyone else who might have a connection to the case.
Who Is D4vd?
D4vd, pronounced “David,” is a singer-songwriter who gained popularity on TikTok before breaking into mainstream charts. He is best known for songs like “Here With Me” and “Romantic Homicide.”
The 19-year-old artist currently has over 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify and released his debut album earlier this year. He is on tour now and scheduled to perform in Los Angeles on September 20.
Eyewitness News reported that representatives for D4vd have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the case.
